How much is your business worth? Show your customers by looking good

September 14, 2015Payman Taei

Looking_good_webdesign In today’s world — in life and online — appearance is everything. If you look good, you look respectable, and in turn, looking respectable keeps customers coming back. Generally speaking, looking good is universal; but it’s also subjective. For some, looking good means you have an eye for the future of fashion. For others, a throwback to the past “looks good.” No matter what, looking good has three classic qualities: cleanliness, simplicity, and confidence. With that definition in mind, let’s apply it to your business: Looking good as a business rests on the same qualities of cleanliness, simplicity, and confidence, if your business relies on a website (as nearly all businesses do today). Don’t be fooled — it may be easy to find your website, but it’s just as easy to find someone else’s. You have to stand out above the crowd of competitors lined up waiting for the next visitor to roll by in order to thrive online as a business. What can you do to let customers know your business is worth their time? Your website will look appealing, professional, and easy to navigate if you stick to the basics. Keep your professional website clean, simple and evoke confidence from your customers. A little interjection on behalf of the consumer: A pretty website that doesn’t work is just as bad as an ugly website that has all the proper information. Website maintenance is essential, so always make sure your site functions first and looks good second. And don’t let design cloud its purpose. Building a website on your own can be cheap but ineffective if you don’t have experience, but can be a good starting point if you are willing to dedicate some time to it. Your best option is to contact a designer — but even that requires a bit of due diligence. Keep in mind that a cheap designer will get the job done, but may not provide you with much more than a modest, functional website. On the other hand, the most expensive designer may build you a site that’s more complicated than what you need. Work with your designer to balance design and function with respect to your needs. And remember, looking good is subjective, so tailor your site to your customers. Keep it clean, make it simple, and display your confidence in your brand without going overboard. Not taking care of your website is just as bad as making a useless product. Consider contacting an award winning web design professionals to help you achieve your goals.
